How to ensure omega 3 fatty acids from a vegetarian



Omega 3 fatty acids play a major role in visual and physiological development of the child. Most of the good sources of omega 3 fatty acids are non vegetarian foods as these are rich in EPA and EHA which are the main omega 3 fatty acids. On the other hand the vegetarian diet contains AHA which is the precursor of DHA and EPA. In the body the AHA gets converted into DHA and EPA. So get omega 3 fatty acids from a vegetarian diet it is important to consume lot of walnuts, olive oil, flax seeds, flax seed oil and soya bean products. Non vegetarian sources like fish, tuna fish and salmon fish are good sources of omega 3 fatty acids.
