**CORRECTION**
The owner of the isitveganjapan.com website, who we now know works alongside 2 others in collaboration for the website, (so it isn’t just one person but three.) AND it turns out one of the founders of the labeling project was at a meeting with a temporary committee of national-level politicians tasked with dealing with the issue of “how Japan is failing to meet the needs of vegan travelers and how to remedy that.” They handed the questionnaire, petition signatures, etc. over to the Commissioner of the Consumer Affairs Agency, (which handles labeling, not the board of directors,) and it was NOT a private meeting with them, but still gets the ball rolling and means that they’re actually getting things done!
